We want you to join us, whether you need help yourself, want to help others or just want to get involved.
Heartlink is a local charity led by heart patients, for heart patients and their families. Based in Southall, Greenford, Hanwell, Ealing, and West London, we provide support and advice to those living with heart conditions, especially those undergoing or recovering from hospital treatment.
While clinical staff focus on medical care, Heartlink offers something equally vital, personal understanding and guidance from those who’ve been through the same journey.
We are deeply committed to raising awareness about heart disease risk factors within the community. By hosting educational workshops, health awareness events, and outreach campaigns, we help individuals identify and address common risks such as high blood pressure, poor diet, smoking, and lack of exercise.
Our goal is to empower people with the knowledge they need to make healthier choices and reduce their chances of developing heart-related conditions.
. Our website is 'heartlink.charity'.
See the 'About us' section for fuller details of us and what we do.
We are a very active group providing one-to one advice, running a community hub, holding regular meetings with cardiologists, running public information desks and stalls, running a weekly walkers group and much more.

Heartlink is very sad to announce the recent loss of one of our longtime loyal members Ajit Singh Saib. Ajit was a strong Heartlink member for many years and volunteered regularly with his wife Veena at Ealing Hospital, helping many other heart patients. Together they won a prestigious Volunteering Award from the Hospital Trust. He had been an active Heartlink Committee Member for years, and when illness prevented his active involvement, stayed on as an Honorary Committee Member.
Our President, Professor Jaspal Kooner writes:
'I was very saddened to hear of Ajit's passing. It is a real loss — not only to all of us at Heartlink, but to everyone whose lives he quietly touched.
Ajit was one of those rare individuals whose presence brought calm, kindness, and genuine care. I knew him both as a dedicated Heartlink volunteer and as a patient, and in both roles he showed such grace, patience, and strength.
In supporting others he always led by example — gently but with deep integrity.
Please do pass on my heartfelt condolences to Veena, Sam, and the family and express again how deeply we feel this loss, both at Heartlink and in the Cardiology Department.
Ajit will be greatly missed, and very fondly remembered.'
We are also saddened to announce the loss of Kirpal Kaur Flora mother of longstanding Heartlink Member, Sukhi Flora. Kirpal is greatly missed by her large family. She had been looked after for some years by Sukhi and his wife Rajinder.
The family arranged that in lieu of flowers mourners could make donations to Heartlink. We are very grateful for this wonderful gesture which has raised over £1,100.
We are very please to announce that Heartlink was recently accepted as a member of Southall Community Alliance - we look forward to supporting the work of the Alliance and working with its member organisations - particularly to promote heart health in Southall.

Download PDFA large group of Heartlink members and supporters enjoyed the Heartlink sponsored walk on the morning of 21st May. The walk was organised by our regular group of Wednesday Walkers, and we assembled at Greenford Hall, going on a very enjoyable walk together through lovely parkland in Perivale and Pitshanger parks, and finishing for refreshments in the sunshine at the Brentham Club.
As well as our regular walkers and many other Heartlink members, we were delighted to be joined by the previous Mayor of Ealing and longtime supporter Mrs Mohinder Midha and Councillor Polly Knewstub, Ealing Council Cabinet Member for Healthy Equal Lives.
The aim of the walk was to encourage more local people to join our regular weekly walks as well as raising sponsorship monies for Heartlink’s work of supporting local heart patients and raising awareness about heart health. We know that walking helps us improve our fitness, in addition to enjoying the walks and open air and sharing chats and time together.
Our regular weekly walkers meet at Greenford Hall, in the centre of Greenford every Wednesday at 10am and go off together for leisurely walks through nearby parks and along scenic paths.
Many thanks to our walkers and their sponsors for all the monies raised totalling some hundreds of pounds.
We are always looking for new members and helpers.
